Her Book Was A Nuclear Blast To Western Society
It is not too often that someone writes a book that changes society in a profound and permanent way. Betty Friedan accomplished something remarkable and deserves credit for it, whatever you may think of her ideas. When I was growing up, she and her book and her colleagues were held up to me as examples -- of, if not evil, serious error.
I'm afraid I didn't always listen well as a child.
Have you read The Feminine Mystique? I read some of it, long ago, but perhaps I'll pull it out and re-read it -- over spring break. Right now I'm only about 1/2 way through the 200+ pages of reading for Criminal.
