Armed But Not So Dangerous

I shot a gun today! Check that goal of my list.

Who knew, but there are a couple of shooting ranges in town.So a few of us went down to one of them and got safety lessons (don't point it at anything you don't want to kill, including baseboards) and loaded up cartridges and got all trigger-happy.

It was kind of fun. And I actually hit the target more often than not--even in the middle! No, I'm not going to tell you how far away the target was. That's not important.

Then I went and had a great meal and shared a bottle of wine with a friend at a low-key but fancy place downtown. The bartender decided we were good people and plied us with some outstanding Hungarian dessert wines. Now, after a loooong walk, I'm exhausted and going to bed so I can get up frighteningly early to finish a memo for Mr. Really-Quite-Big.

Said memo is a bit on the snarky side. But so is he.

Sadly, shooting a gun is a lot easier than one might think. I am an amazingly good shot for someone who never practices.
