It should not go from bad to worse.
Bureaucrats should not be allowed to take time off when other people's lives are thrown into turmoil until the bureaucrat shows up again.
I should be able to do more than gnash my teeth and offer tea (Tazo Calm, it seemed appropriate) and sympathy. But no.
If there is any justice in the world at all, Mr. Squirmy will be sleeping in his own crib tomorrow night with two exhausted but out from investigation parents.
I'm praying my little heart out for justice.

As horrible as this is for them, the worse problem is that there are so many of these types of cases (and worse!) and not enough of these bureaucrats. Just like teachers, the people who have to investigate these cases should be better paid and better treated so they'll have some incentive to put their heart and soul behind these cases. It shouldn't be allowed to be so arbitrary that a case worker in a bad mood can permanently shift a parent's world off its axis. Hopefully today will end well and this will be a bad nightmare this time next week!

Teeth gnashing is usually a sign of something beyond a dental issue. Perhaps it is something related to stress or anxiety. There are a lot of available options to end this, and I'm sure one will definitely suit you. =)
