Feeling Paralyzed

Before finals were over I had two emails about assignments for next quarter. I appreciate professors making sure that students know what they need to know about assignments. But, really? During exams?

Here's my list, in no particular order:

  1. Figure out registration for the NY Bar exam. One of my brothers is moving to Buffalo, so I'm thinking about seeing if I can take it there. Thoughts?
  2. Make the dreaded pre-Christmas Targ*t run.
  3. Read three (with an option for four) books on negotiation.
  4. Read a book and an assignment for First Amendment.
  5. Do the first Tax assignment.
  6. Flat-out panic over Securities.
  7. Make Christmas cookies.
  8. Finish knitting a couple of Christmas presents. I can't tell you about these now, but I will later. Scrumptious, really.
  9. Battle the house and laundry situation
  10. Numerous Mom-type things (you know, nagging and stuff)

Obviously, there's a lot more on my list but that's what I can remember that's fit to print before my first cup of tea is finished.

Re: New York Bar registration - are you going to be living in Buffalo when you study for it? Because most out-of-staters are seated in Albany (Third Judicial Department) unless you work in New York somewhere. Buffalo is the Fourth Judicial Department. If you can convince the bar examiners that you're planning to stay in Buffalo, they might seat you there (or, conversely, if you study for it there and change your address to your brother's, they will likely seat you there - the seat assignments aren't made until after July 1st).

In any event, registration isn't due for another few months, and it's way cheaper than most other states (only $250, because you don't submit character and fitness until much later).

Maybe my priorities are screwed up, but I think #7 on your list is absolutely the most pressing item and should be tackled first.

You're quite right, New Duck. And somehow I let my priorities get all out of whack and didn't make ANY. But I'm heading to the kitchen right now to make some. Better late, etc.
