There have been 181 school shootings since Columbine? And today, by so many measures, the worst.
My heart breaks for the families involved.
But we must do something. Gun laws alone are not enough--all those found today were, it seems, legal. What do we do about those who are so ill, so dysfunctional, that violence spills out of them to shred so many lives around them? How do we find them, help them, and protect our children from them BEFORE the violence erupts? What needs to change?
Something must change.

Yes, for sure and on multiple fronts. How would we decide who should receive more help with mental health issues? Even those diagnosed only with depression might snap under the right circumstances. Who should be prevented from buying guns? If you look at what has worked in other countries, it seems it is limited access to certain types of guns and ammunition, along with controls on who can buy them that has worked the best.

Good luck with getting politicians of any stripe to work together enough to accomplish anything.
