We had a long fall but winter has most definitely arrived and I'm in a permanent state of chilled.
TFL and I trekked back to see family for Thanksgiving. It was great to see everyone, if only briefly, but it was by no means a stress-free visit. Still, I had hours and hours of driving time in which to knit and nap, so that was actually rather lovely. TFL did *all* the driving, he said he became one with the car. Heh. And we listened to a rather silly book along the way, that made us laugh because it was so poorly written but it was a fun adventure story, and it didn't matter if I dozed through parts of it or if TFL stopped paying attention for a bit, so perfect for the trip.
We celebrated Boy's birthday by watching Michigan lose to Ohio State and throwing darts at a local pub.
People were laughing at me because I packed nearly as much knitting stuff as clothes, but you see I had to bring all kinds of skeins to see which would go with my mother-in-law's coat. She picked exactly the one I thought would look best on her.
Here's how much I got done in the car on Sunday:
Here's how much is done now (about 2/3 of the total scarf):
It's unblocked, people, but I think it's going to look pretty spiffy when it's done. The pattern is a fun, quick knit and the yarn is divine.
I have to warn my mother-in-law that if she ever decides she doesn't want it anymore GirlChild will swipe it from her in an instant. They have very similar coloring.
I hope you all had lovely Thanksgivings.
