And I'm not talking about the sketchy 3Ls studying for the Bar. The other day someone came in off the street and started rifling through a girl's stuff. We leave our stuff on the tables all the time, as I may have mentioned. When we're just going to make a call, or get a drink or something... we're not going to pack up all our stuff. That would be inefficient. Besides, it's such a small school there's always someone around who knows you at least by sight, and would know if some stranger were picking up your laptop. God forbid.
Which is why this guy was immediately asked (by a student) what he was doing; which was an effective tactic in that it stopped him pawing over that particular set of belongings, but ineffective in that he just moved to another table and started going through someone else's stuff. Security came, he left. No laptops stolen, anyway.
However, I think library security could be better, especially in the evening. Also, there could be a Starbucks (or equivalent) outpost in the lobby. A salon would be nice too, so I could finally get my hair cut. And a masseuse, that would be quite helpful.
Could we at least have vending machines a little closer than the extreme opposite corner of the building, several floors down? Thank you.
